This is probably unlike much you’ve heard before. A clever description from the label could in no way describe the variety, electro-weirdness, avant-whatever, that is happening on this album. Instead, we’ll just give you a glimpse into a few of our limited exchanges with the artist. The owners of Triple Down overheard the music in a bar one night, and upon asking the bartender about it, found out it was a friend of his. They expressed interest, and he hesitantly put them in touch with Adaledge, warning in advance he’s a hard nut to crack.
They approached him about putting out a release, and were surprised to find out that he had no intentions of releasing anything…ever. So they assumed that was the end of that, only to get this email a few weeks later:
“sami and ron,
ok.
– adaledge”
Triple Down came to find out his real name is, in fact, Adaledge Williams. He won a small lottery in 2003, and has since spent every waking moment making music, which up to this point, had only been shared with friends. What better way to get a feel for the record than from the man himself. Here is the email Triple Down got from him last month:
“sami and ron,
here: www.xxxxxxxx.com/xxxx is vintage feelings. this is what I am naming it. because it’s not a record it’s a moment. in record form. just call me adaledge on your site. no williams. no cds. just digital. it doesn’t need to be manifested in any other form. VF comes from years of influence both physical, social, and mental. it also has moments that are free of any influence, time, space, or standard musical structure. it’s unforgiving. if it isn’t what you were expecting i apologize. but it is the only piece of music i can release at this moment. feel free to do whatever you want to promote it. i’d rather not be consulted on every little piece of bullshit. i only ask that you never include any imagery of dragons or wild boars near my name.
– adaledge”
So, yeah, Triple Down is proud to announce Adaledge “Vintage Feelings”, available until May 25th as a free download at http://adaledge.com, and for purchase at all the usual digital spots from then on.
