TIM HEALEY 8 minute MINI LP PROMO MIX / TRACKS FROM THE LP! HERE!
A little taster for you from Tim’s new LP – Rest In Beats it spans a galaxy of the freshest electronic sonics, with BPMs tastefully varied. Matt King (aka Peep Show’s gnarly “Super Hans”) drops in for the album’s spoken word intro, before Tim tours hip-hop, urban and dance-hall beats, an awesome cover of the Beatle’s Dear Prudence and then double delivers with no less than 5 un-missable club cuts.
Collaborators on the album include a who’s who of dance-music’s glitterati: Calvertron, Tomcraft, Atomic Drop, Freqhouse, Pete Martin and an arsenal of vocalists from SirReal (Freestylers/Pendulum) to the legendary toaster Top Cat via urban-heros Manners, Loc-E and sassy songstress Pippa Trix.

Noiseporn Tim Healey LP interview
It’s a been a long wait and finally your album is set to drop (and it’s a real biggie!!), why the long wait?
We had so many strong tracks on the LP – we decided to release 5 of them as singles – which is quite unorthodox. We’ve done 3 so far and now there will be 2 more after the LP is released.
Do you think you will make another album in the near future?
Yes, but I have 2 new projects under wraps right now which are about to get rolling and there there is my new event in London – all of which will be revealed very soon. It can drive you insane producing constant heavy club beats – even if you vary it between electro/house and dubstep. Working on my LP was like therapy. I assembled a killer team of characters and collaborators – the whole experience was amazing – the hive of creativity around my studio with visitors as diverse as Matt King (aka Super Hans from Peep Show) to Calvertron, via the mighty SirReal, Tomcraft, Atomic Drop and Freq House – was second to none.
What’s next for Surfer Rosa and Tim Healey?
Gig-wise, my next big UK date is July 2, and if you visit my official facebook page (www.facebook.com/timhealeyofficial <http://www.facebook.com/timhealeyofficial> ) you can win tickets to this event – we’ve got a load to give away. On July 2, London is hosting the latest in the awesome series of Spectrum events this year. The January party was massive – and this one promises to be even better. The surprise headliners are so big they’re being announced in June – but I can reveal that they are 2 of the biggest dubstep artists you can think of. One of whom is constantly being played on Radio 1. Then you have a host of regular characters and me doing the LP launch. If you haven’t been to the Ewer Street venue in London – you must – its railway arches in the heart of the city – and the way they do the sound and lighting there is second to none. Come on down.
Release-wise, we’ve got a load of stuff lined up for the rest of 2011. There are more singles from the LP: Resistance – which has an astonishing CGI video, and massive remixes from dub-step supremo Mark Instinct and new Brazilian electro-house wunderkind Eric Farias. But before that we’ve got a slamming slab of tough electro with Take Control – which is me and Atomic Drop, featuring SirReal, with tasty remixes from Hedflux and Zen Death Squad, with a fabulous video made by James from Atomic Drop. After that we have singles from Hatiras, Stripper, and a load of new artists.
Tell us something shocking about about Tim Healey?
I had my stag weekend 2 weekends ago, and the highlight was woodlouse racing – which you can watch highlights from on my facebook page. Each woodlouse had a coloured dot to distinguish it, and all were released into the wild after 5 races.
